On April 8, 2025, Maharashtra takes a monumental step in enhancing its disaster preparedness!

Inaugurated

Hon. Chief Minister Shri. Devendra Fadanvis inaugurated the nexly modernized State Emergency Operation Center (SEOC) today.

Key Announcements:

SEOC inauguration - Advanced ICT Infrastructure including on-premises data center, high computing workstations, enterprise GIS environment and AV conferencing facility.

DEOC modernization

Upgraded infrastructure in 34 districts and 3 municipal corporations under Maharashtra Resilient Development Programme supported by the World Bank.

SIDM

Cabinet approved the establishment of State Institute of Disaster Management in Nagpur.

New Features & Initiatives:

'Apatti Sahayak' mobile app for SOS alerts & direct citizen interaction.

Geo-DSS system

for real-time disaster impact assessment.

New disaster management authority

website for instant access to critical information.

Maharashtra is leading the way

Improved Coordination

It ensures seamless collaboration between state agencies, NDRF, and local authorities for faster and more effective emergency handling.

24/7 Monitoring

The center operates round-the-clock to track disasters like floods, earthquakes, and cyclones, enabling swift action. 2. 

Public Awareness & Training

The SEOC will conduct drills and awareness programs to educate communities on disaster preparedness and mitigation.

Model for Other States

Maharashtra’s SEOC serves as a blueprint for other Indian states to strengthen their disaster management frameworks.
